Women’s Month: Antjies Handmade Naturals

TMF’s Grootbos Foundation Small Grants Facility has helped to empower some incredible women through their inspirational community based projects. In the 2017/18 funding cycle we supported one such woman, Nicolene Gericke, from Antjies Handmade Naturals. Nicolene had identified the need for seamstress training within the Stanford community and, through small grant funding, eight women were trained to use industrial sewing machines, and to make re-usable sanitary ware, which provided a new skill and built capacity within a community with limited job opportunities.
