October saw the Table Mountain Fund Board of Trustees and staff coming together for our first Board Field Day in over two years. The day was jam-packed with high-level discussions, idea-sharing, and fynbos meanderings. Hosted at the !Khwa ttu San Education and Culture Centre, our Trustees were treated to an in-depth tour of this fascinating project and a delicious mouth-wateringly good lunch, which was both locally and sustainably sourced from the farm and surrounding communities.

Khwa ttu is home to one of TMFโ€™s new Prosperity Programme funded projects, ๐—™๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ฑ ๐—ณ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—บ ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—”๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜€. This project is providing new tourism excursions for visitors wanting to learn from San knowledge of indigenous plants and highlights the link between naturally-occurring fynbos plants in our landscape and ancient hunter-gatherer foods.

Thank you to the !Khwa ttu team for hosting us and for providing such a memorable experience which we highly recommend. And a HUGE thank you to our Trustees for their ongoing support to the fund and their unwavering commitment to the conservation of the Cape Floral Regionโ€™s natural and cultural heritage.

Thanks to Jacques Maraisย for so beautifully capturing this special day.
