Celebrating Our People: 2022 Board Day

𝗔 𝗙𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗙𝘆𝗻𝗯𝗼𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗲𝘀

October saw the Table Mountain Fund Board of Trustees and staff coming together for our first Board Field Day in over two years. The day was jam-packed with high-level discussions, idea-sharing, and fynbos meanderings. Hosted at the !Khwa ttu San Education and Culture Centre, our Trustees were treated to an in-depth tour of this fascinating project and a delicious mouth-wateringly good lunch, which was both locally and sustainably sourced from the farm and surrounding communities.

Khwa ttu is home to one of TMF’s new Prosperity Programme funded projects, 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗔𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀. This project is providing new tourism excursions for visitors wanting to learn from San knowledge of indigenous plants and highlights the link between naturally-occurring fynbos plants in our landscape and ancient hunter-gatherer foods.

Thank you to the !Khwa ttu team for hosting us and for providing such a memorable experience which we highly recommend. And a HUGE thank you to our Trustees for their ongoing support to the fund and their unwavering commitment to the conservation of the Cape Floral Region’s natural and cultural heritage.

Thanks to Jacques Marais for so beautifully capturing this special day.
