CapeNature Stewardship Awards

CapeNature Stewardship Awards

On 29 September 2022, TMF’s Project Coordinator Carla Wood attended the CapeNature Stewardship Awards evenings where the Table Mountain Fund was given a special award in recognition and appreciation of an outstanding contribution made towards biodiversity conservation in the Western Cape.

The three awards evenings form part of the Millennium Trust-TMF funded CapeNature Biodiversity Stewardship Programme project. The purpose of this project is to deliver stewardship assistance to landowners who have signed contracts with CapeNature declaring their properties or portions thereof “Contract Nature Reserves” or by entering into “Biodiversity Agreements” supporting landowners with training and knowledge sharing and in implementing management actions on the Stewardship sites which will benefit the biodiversity conservation of the properties. Through an elaborate partnership between CapeNature, Conservation at Work and TMF, the formal Protected Area Network of the Cape Floral Region has grown considerably since funding support for the project began in 2011.
