2025 Small Grant Recipients

2025 Small Grant Recipients

As part of the Table Mountain Fund’s Care Programme, Nature Connect has been appointed as a facility to issue small grants on TMF’s behalf. The Small Grants Project provides funding and mentorship to community-based organisations and NPOs in the Cape Floristic Region, supporting environmental conservation, awareness, and sustainability efforts. These grants are designed to welcome new individuals and organisations into the conservation sector while promoting biodiversity, community participation, youth involvement, and sustainable livelihoods.

Five NPOs and community groups were selected for the 2025 funding cycle and to date, the successful organisations have had a busy and productive year.

The 2025 grantees are:

𝗢𝗰𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲: an NPO dedicated to raising awareness and taking action for ocean conservation, while empowering the next generation of Ocean Stewards through their #voiceoftheoceans ambassadors programme.

𝗝𝗼𝗻𝗸 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀: a community-led NPO dedicated to connecting inland communities to the ocean and exposing youth to the impact their actions can have on local river and catchment systems.

𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗢𝘂𝘁: is focused on empowering youth in Cape Town to get out into nature and participate in meaningful conservation adventures where they can make a tangible impact on their environment.

𝗠𝗰𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝗰𝗼-𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯: a community-led initiative, in collaboration with the Friends of Vrolijkheid Nature Reserve, that aims to foster hope and a love for nature among the under-resourced children living in the town of McGregor.

𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀: a community-led project that aims to increase biodiversity and environmental awareness by establishing and maintaining small indigenous gardens in public spaces, which provide a stepping-stone-style green corridor between fragmented natural habitats, linking to Tygerberg Nature Reserve.
